Billing Software for Grocery and Kirana Stores
Grocery and food retail. This is not a separate grocery product. It is the billing and stock system I build for shops, with the parts a grocery or kirana store needs for loose and perishable items, weighing-scale billing and expiry tracking, built to order as part of setting it up for you. A store that sells only packaged, barcoded goods can likely start on what is ready today. A store with a lot of loose grain, vegetables or perishables will need the built-to-order parts before it fits properly.
What makes this trade different
- Packaged goods scan at the counter, but loose grain, flour and vegetables are sold by weight, not by a fixed barcode.
- A pack nearing its expiry needs to be noticed and moved before it becomes a write-off.
- A long stock list of small-margin items has to stay accurate without slowing the counter.
- Supplier bills for dozens of FMCG items arrive often, sometimes as a PDF.
- A regular customer running a monthly account wants their balance tracked properly.
Ready today
- Billing for packaged goods. Scan a barcode or type the item code, take cash, UPI, card, bank or credit, split any way, and print.
- Barcode tags. Price tags print with MRP and any offer already on them, for everything you stock with its own code.
- Supplier bills read from a PDF. A supplier's bill can be typed in or read from their PDF, updating stock and the purchase rate together.
- Low stock before it runs out. Stock running low shows grouped by category, so a fast-moving item gets reordered before the shelf is empty.
- A regular customer's running account. A customer's history, what they owe and what they have paid sit on one screen, for a monthly khata-style account.
Built for your grocery and food retail
These do not exist yet. They are built around how your business runs, as part of setting the system up.
- Weighing-scale billing. I connect an electronic weighing scale at the counter so grain, vegetables and other loose items bill by actual weight instead of a guessed quantity.
- Batch and expiry tracking. I set up batch numbers and expiry dates on perishable and packaged stock, with a list of what is nearing expiry so it gets moved or returned in time.
What it doesn't do
- Nothing here weighs anything or tracks expiry today. Both are work I do as part of setting up a store that sells loose or perishable goods, not ready features on day one.
- Billing needs an internet connection. There is no offline billing today; a phone hotspot is enough to carry on.
- The billing counter is made for an iPad or a computer.
Questions
Can it bill loose items like grain or vegetables by weight?
Not out of the box today. I connect an electronic weighing scale to the counter as part of setting up your store, so loose items bill by actual weight.
Does it track expiry dates?
Not as a ready feature. Batch and expiry tracking is built as part of setup for a store that carries perishable or dated stock, with a near-expiry list so it gets noticed in time.
Can it bill a store that only sells packaged, barcoded goods today?
Yes. Barcode billing, GST, purchases read from a supplier PDF and low stock alerts all work today without any extra building.
Who helps when something breaks?
I do. You message me, I look at it, and I fix it. I don't disappear after deploy.
Barcode billing, purchases and stock alerts for packaged goods work today. Weighing-scale billing and expiry tracking get built around your store if you carry loose or perishable items. Tell me what you stock and I will tell you honestly what fits now and what needs building. Retail POS, stock and GST billing.
